Whites have a 1 in 17 chance of being incarcerated while Blacks have a 1 in 3 chance

In 11 states in America, 1 out of every 20 black males is in prison

Blacks: 12% of population => 35% of the incarcerated population

In NY, Blacks are more than 8x more likely to be imprisoned than whites
